ABERDEEN & DUNDEE SPY MISSION TREASURE TRAIL

This self-guided Spy Mission Treasure Trail will entertain the whole family and is a great fun day out. As you follow a pre purchased (£6.99) trail route, you solve clever clues set on existing buildings, permanent features and monuments to crack the code and complete the mission just like a true secret agent.

There are 26 Trails to choose from in Aberdeenshire and 5 in Dundee and Angus. From the West End to Aboyne, Arboath and Turriff, this imaginative way to explore the city is the perfect October break adventure.

STRATOSPHERE SCIENCE CENTRE. THE SCIENCE OF SOUND

Over the month of October the popular Science Centre Satropshere will bel exploring the science of sound in Aberdeen. Established in 1989, Aberdeen Science Centre is a pioneer of interactive science discovery in Scotland bringing science, technology, engineering and maths to life.

With daily workshops and shows at the weekends, they will delve into the world of sound, discovering what is really is and how we interact with it in science.

THE DUNDEE FUN FACTORY

With 2 fab locations in Dundee the Fun Factory caters for children up to 11 years old. The Fun Factory hosts a range of fun and games, a café area with a great selection of food, and adequate parking. The Skate & Scooter Park is also very popular destination to keep your older ones active and happy. With special beginners' sessions available however they don't actually need to have any experience whatsoever, just an enthusiasm for learning and a good attitude toward falling down!

UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE BOTANIC GARDEN

Peaceful, beautiful and educational. The Botanic Gardens is a perfect day out.

There are some mini online guides available with information about different aspects of the garden including birds, insect eating plants and alien invaders!! Suitable for all ages with a gift shop, café area and trails to follow you will leave feeling relaxed with a few new facts up your sleeve.

ZOOLOGY MUSEUM AND BOTANIC GARDEN ABERDEEN

Keep the kids busy in the stunning 11 acre Cruickshank Botanic Garden. The Gardens are right next door to the Zoology Museum where you can see a wide range of stuffed and skeletal animals. Within the Biodiversity Centre Education Room, get up close to the local mammals and birds, huge skulls, snake skins and whale bones. The museum’s displays are worldwide in scope, from protozoa to the great whales, including taxidermy, skeletal material, study skins, fluid-preserved specimens and models. Visitors are warmly welcomed to the museum, and there is no charge for admission.
