If you require a stylish city car that is easy to drive and suitably practical, the Peugeot 108 should definitely be on your shortlist. Ideal as a first ever car or a reliable second household vehicle, the five-door 108 is available in Active, Allure and GT Line trim levels.
All models feature a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, making it easy for the driver to establish an ideal position. The person behind the wheel can enjoy even greater comfort by upgrading to Active trim levels, which provides a height-adjustable position too. Air conditioning (automatic with GT Line grades) and power-operated front windows are included with all 108 variants, ensuring that achieving an ideal cabin temperature is always an easy task.
The 108’s stereo system includes an AM/FM radio and AUX and USB inputs.
Active grades add a seven-inch touchscreen, two more speakers (making four in total), DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Satellite navigation is an option with Allure trims and higher.
The 108 is fitted with numerous driver aids in order to keep occupants as safe as possible. Among the standard inclusions are Electronic Stability Control and Anti-lock Braking System, which significantly reduce the risk of skidding. All models feature six airbags, a pair of ISOFIX child seat fixtures and tamper-proof rear doors too.
Naturally, a five-door body is a practical consideration when choosing a car. For one thing, it makes access for rear-row travellers as easy as possible, and fixing a child seat a straightforward undertaking. The car also features a low load sill, which makes placing and retrieving bulky items as simple as can be.
The 108 is coated in snazzy Laser Red as standard, but a number of optional colours are available too, including Purple Berry, Raven Black and Diamond White. Your paint finish of choice is perfectly complemented by the car’s body-coloured fixtures, which include door handles and door mirrors.
If you want your 108 to ride on alloy wheels, choose Allure or GT Line grades, which feature 15-inch wheels. Those supplied with GT Line trims sport a bespoke design too, and the same grade also features classy gloss-black door mirror shells and a rakish black rear spoiler.
This nimble little car is not only ideal for urban driving; it’s also very cost-effective to run. An entry-level 1.0-litre 68bhp petrol engine happens to be the most fuel-efficient option available for the Peugeot 108. This returns as much as 68.9mpg, while producing CO2 emissions as low as 95g/km. Even with a 1.2-litre 82bhp petrol engine installed, up to 65.7mpg (combined) is returned, and emissions from 99g/km.
The 108 is one of many fine Peugeot cars available from John Clark. Our Aberdeen showroom is open daily, so please don’t hesitate to phone or visit us – or contact us online – to book your test drive.
