This Bug's Catching - The New Beetle Makes Big Impression

The Beetle was unveiled to the British press in Berlin last month and even hard-nosed journalists have fallen for the car.

Leading the pack was Martin Ward from car data provider CAP who described the exterior design as “brilliant” and “appealing”. “I didn’t think I was going to like the Beetle, but …I have to say, I do love it.” wrote Ward.

A reviewer from Auto Express magazine was similarly glowing in his account: “It’s clear that this is the best-handling and sharpest-looking Bug yet.”
Reviewers across the board stressed the departure of the new model from its ancestors, with one predicting a full-blown Beetle revival.

Writing in The Independent, John Simister said: “What is clear, though, is that the new Beetle is a more ‘serious’, more credible car than the previous one. Could it reignite the Beetle cult? I do believe it could.”

The Beetle will launch in the UK in early 2012.
