Fundraising cycle from Aberdeen to Portree

Starting on the 27th of May 2010, a small team of nine are starting their 3 day challenge to cycle over some of Grampians highest and steepest roads on the 228 mile route from Aberdeen on the East coast of Scotland to Portree of the West coast.
During the challenge, the team must climb over the Lecht situated 60 miles west of Aberdeen, reaching 2090 feet high. The team are not hardened cyclists and this will be a major challenge for them to face on their journey.
Sponsored by Clark Commercials, Budget Rental, Specialist Cars Volkswagen and Aberdeen Audi the team hope to complete their journey in under 3 days and are doing so to raise funds for their nominated charities The British Heart Foundation and Lucky2Bhere.
The British Heart Foundation is a well established national charity whose aim is to prevent people dying prematurely from heart disease.
Lucky2Bhere is a Skye based charity which seeks to proved defibrillator machines in rural communities where, very often, life saving expertise is likely to be some distance away. Both charities are clearly linked in their aim to save lives.
The initial aim of the team is to raise £2,000 to purchase a defibrillator in a rural community for Lucky2Bhere and match an equivalent sum of money for the British Heart Foundation.
Their overall target therefore being, £4,000. With generous donations flooding in to support the team, their initial target of £2,000 has already been met but they still need a lot more donations to help them reach their target of £4,000.
