The CUPRA Born, most recently awarded Best To Drive Small Electric Car by What Car?, is the small electric family car produced by CUPRA since 2021. It may be built of the Volkswagen Group's MED platform but it is undoubtedly a CUPRA model.

Škoda's first full-electric car offers "a fresh new take on technology, performance, and environmental responsibility." The iV badge represents that it's an innovative vehicle but also that it embraces change and leaves nothing behind.
The Enyaq SUV styling gives it higher ground clearance and a distinctively shaped bonnet whilst the decision to keep a front grille makes it recognisable as a Škoda, it's a key identity element across the brand. The MINI Electric is based on the 3 door MINI Hatch in terms of size and design, and brings the ever-popular model into the future.
The most obvious difference is the lack of a traditional grille. Instead, the front of the car features a closed-off panel with an accent strip that runs across the top. This strip is also found on the side scuttles and rear bumper, and it helps to identify the car as an electric model. The MINI Electric also has a slightly different front bumper design than the gasoline-powered Cooper, with a larger air intake and a different fog light housing. The headlights are also LED units, which are standard on all models.
The battery on the MINI Electric is smaller than some others on the market at 32.6 kWh but this helps to keep the cost of the car down. MINI estimates an all-electric range of 144 miles and a full charge time from as little as 3 hours and 12 minutes on a home charging unit with 7.4kW output. Using a 50kW DC rapid charger in public can take as little as 36 minutes.
It's worth noting that the battery is placed below the rear seats which reduces the space for those passengers, so not ideal for six foot adults. The Volkswagen ID. 3 is built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform and comes with ID. Software installed which upgrades charging functions, including Plug & Charge, and keeps the ID.3 up to date with any post-purchase upgrades.

The Volvo EX30 is one of the new electric cars on our list. Announced earlier this year before a launch in July, the EX30 is the smallest ever SUV made by the brand and also the smallest electric car that they have available with the smallest carbon footprint of any Volvo vehicle to date.
