Every aspect of the new K 1600 GTL has been designed to provide the ultimate riding experience, with cutting edge technology and innovative new engineering construction combined to produce a seamless machine that demonstrates the notion of beauty in motion whilst maintaining its heritage of precision, practicality and efficiency. The K 1600 GTL is a refined tourer, with an ergonomic design aimed at making sure the rider stays comfortable on long journeys. The key focus is the riding position, which remains relaxed and supportive with far reaching handle bars that allow the rider to sit back more resulting in less stress and pressure on the wrists and lower back. There is also plenty of seating space for any pillion passengers complete with backrest for added support and comfort.
The BMW K 1600 GTL utilises a never before seen in-like 6-cylinder engine. It's uniqueness comes from its small size, which is the most compact engine present within a series production bike ever. What's more, it's one of the most efficient engines in its class, producing 175 Nm of torque at 5,250 RPM and 118 KW at 7,750 RPM, capable of a top speed of over 200 km/h through a 6 speed gearbox and Cardan shaft drive train. Fully loaded the K 1600 GTL weighs 348 kg with a revolutionary Duolever front suspension which helps to maintain balance through the corners, coupled with Paralever suspension to the rear which helps to keep all of the engine's power on the road. Electronic Suspension Adjustment is also available to improve traction, particularly in different weather conditions.
The BMW K 1600 GTL embodies supremacy on the road, designed to cover large distances in comfort and style. Power and technology work hand in hand to produce a truly enjoyable riding experience, with ABS included as standard for improved safety. A unique design philosophy has been crafted together with class leading engineering and efficiency making this practical tourer motorbike an obvious choice for the riding enthusiast, particularly if you regularly have a pillion passenger.
