With the A4 Avant's refined looks and road-hugging all-wheel grip, the Audi A4 Allroad Quattro truly is the best of both worlds. It feels rugged yet sleek at the same time, finished and engineered to benchmark standards in the off-roader class.
Alongside trademark Audi estate car design cues – the high roof rails, the long wheelbase and twin exhaust pipes - the Allroad has several individual style points. The 'A4 allroad' single frame grille is a unique feature, joined by the off-road aluminium pack and glossy black rear door panels.
On entering the cabin, drivers can settle into a comfy seat with the leather-covered multifunction steering wheel easy to adjust. The acoustically-shaped windscreen mutes exterior noise and enhances the sounds from the ten-speaker concert radio system. Space is never compromised – folding the rear bench produces up to 1,430 litres of load volume.
There are Standard and Sport versions of the Allroad Quattro, giving you two very attractive choices. Standard acts as the entry-level car, with three-zone climate control to keep everyone comfortable. The equipment list also includes an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, cruise control, front and rear armrests and Bluetooth® connectivity.
Opt for the Sport model to enjoy partial leather sports seats and tailored Audi drive select. The 19-inch alloy wheels have a different design, and from the B-pillar backwards the windows are fitted with tinted privacy glass.
Both equipment levels have three engine options: 2.0-litre diesel and petrol variants, and a 3.0-litre diesel at 242bhp. Torque is strong across the line-up, with the full measure available from the mid-rev range. The Allroad Quattro never takes more than nine seconds to sprint from 0-60mph, and peak fuel economy is 47.8mpg combined.
The Quattro all-wheel drive creates confidence and reliable handling over off-road terrains. An increased height of 3.7cm over the original A4 ensures that the suspension system is also individual to the model. The strength of the vehicle is such that it can tow close to two tonnes of braked weight.
There are yet more systems fitted throughout the Allroad Quattro to keep you protected and secure on the journey. The front, side and head airbag configuration supports you from all angles, and the vehicle monitors driver activity and suggests the best time to take a rest stop. On the outside, front and rear fog lights are joined by light and rain sensors, ensuring that in poorer visibility you remain in control.
