New Child Seat Laws- What You Need to Know

New Laws as of March 2017

Child safety is of utmost importance and we see this as essential knowledge. This short guide will help to keep you right and keep your little ones safe.

Under current regulations all children must use a child seat until they have reached the age of 12 or until they have reached 125cm in height. Under new regulation, for children under under 22kg or 125cm, manufacturers will not be allowed to produce backless booster seats. This does not apply to current models that are available but does to any new model.

New backless booster cushions available for sale will now have to be clearly labelled as suitable only for children weighing more than 25kg or over 125cm. The table opposite shows what seat is most appropriate, determined by the child's weight.
