If optimal pace and power is required, a 3.0-litre 265bhp petrol engine, available with BMW X3 M Sport grades, is the go-to solution. This six-cylinder unit delivers a peak torque of 620Nm and 0-60mph in approximately 5.6 seconds, yet still manages up to 48.7mpg.
