Now in its second generation, The New MG5 EV comes as a long range model, a 100% electric estate car with up to 250 miles of range. Using 100kW rapid charging, the New MG5 EV Long Range car's battery pack can reach 80% charge in just 40 minutes.
MG5 EV Design
Stylish and highly practical, the MG5 EV has a sleek, low-slung, aerodynamic appearance, helping it to be more discernible amongst other electric estates. Fully LED lights, silver roof rails and a rear aero wiper are featured on all models, while the 2 variants: SE and Trophy, each come with unique alloy wheels. 6 exterior colours are available to personalise your MG5 EV, from Arctic White, Black Pearl and Piccadilly Blue, to Cosmic Silver, Hampstead Grey and Dynamic Red.
MG5 EV Interior
The maximum power of the New MG5 EV is an engaging 156PS, with a maximum torque output of 280Nm. 0-60mph is achievable in 7.3 seconds, and the electric car's personality can be configured with its three driving modes. The New MG5 electric car can reach up to 250 miles range on the WLTP combined cycle for electric cars, with a maximum city range of 326 miles. Using 50kW public rapid charging, the 61kW battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 60 minutes, while a 150kW charger reduces this to around 35 minutes.
MG5 EV Performance
The interior is characterised by a leather steering wheel, rotary gear selector, a 10.25" media touchscreen and a colour driver information display for monitoring vehicle status. Crisp sound is provided by a 6 speaker 3D sound system, and integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside DAB Radio and Bluetooth means you can listen to your favourite music or radio shows with ease whilst on the move. The New MG5 EV offers a boot capacity of 479 litres, but impressive adaptability and a 60:40 split means that this boot volume can reach up to 1,367 litres with the rear seats folded down.
MG5 EV Models
There are 2 trim levels to choose from on the New MG5 EV, The SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range. The SE is the entry level model, coming with a plethora of features which include 16" Alloy Wheels with aero covers, LED headlights and silver roof rails. Keyless entry and push button start make access easier, and a 10.25" screen displays the infotainment system and navigation. The Trophy version sees external upgrades such as 17" Alloys, rear privacy glass and power folding door mirrors. Convenience options such as a 360 parking camera, electrically adjustable heated seats in leather style upholstery, auto climate control and all round 1 touch window controls are also included.
MG5 EV Technology
The colour touchscreen iSMART user app displays vehicle information and media connectivity, including DAB Radio, Bluetooth and smartphone integration, while The MG iSMART app is perfect for monitoring vehicle status and scheduling charging. The MG Pilot Advanced Driver Assistance System helps to ensure a relaxing and comfortable driving experience, with features such as active emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control with intelligent speed limit assist and high beam assist.
