Bo’ness Speed Hill Climb took place at Kinneil Estate last weekend (2nd-3rd September) where participants and spectators enjoyed spectacular weather. John Clark Motor Group is proud to sponsor the event, which has a rich automotive history that spans 90 years.
Through entry fees for drivers and admission charges for spectators, a phenomenal £10,000 was raised for Race Against Dementia (RAD) whilst a further sum was given to two local charities: Friends of Kinneil and the Bo’ness Children’s Fair.
We are delighted that Bo’ness Speed Hill Climb chose to support RAD, John Clark Motor Group’s official charity partner, at this year’s event and know that the money raised by the Bo’ness Speed Hill Climb will be a welcome contribution to the hard work that the charity undertakes.
Spectators and driver’s drivers enjoyed the warm weather as 99 cars took part in the weekend which was split into a practice run session in the morning and competition run session in the afternoon.
Prizes across the weekend included:
- Fastest Time of Day Award pre-1946
- Fastest Time of Day Award pre-1974
- Fastest Time of Day Award post 1973
- First in Class
- Best Prepared Vehicle
- Fastest Time by a Vintage Car
John Clark OBE, Chairman of John Clark Motor Group, is a classic car and motorsport enthusiast who took part in the event itself in his own 1951 Tojero and Jaguar C Type. His cars were placed in the Sports Racing Cars 01/01/47 – 31/12/73 Sponsored by Ecurie Du Fer and Single Marque – Jaguar, pre-1974 categories against a variety of other incredible classic cars.
It was a fantastic weekend and wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of Bo’ness Sporting Automobile Club and the support from Falkirk Council, the large number of volunteers and groups who lent their time, and the residents of Kinneil Estate. We look forward to next year’s event!
