Team Result: 2nd Place
Eilidh Shaw and the Alba Development Road Team capped off a remarkable 2024 season with a strong showing at the final round of the Lloyds Bank National Road Series in Stamfordham. Shaw’s second-place finish on the day secured her the overall National Road Series title.
On a challenging course featuring the steep Ryals climb, Shaw’s teammate Lauren Dickson set the pace, consistently splitting the peloton with powerful ascents. The Alba Development Road Team worked hard to protect Shaw’s series lead, with teammates Keira Bond and Abi Plowman playing crucial support roles throughout the race.
As the final lap unfolded, a breakaway formed on the Ryals, with Shaw riding alongside some of the strongest competitors in the race. Though Robyn Clay claimed victory in the sprint, Shaw’s second-place finish was enough to seal her National Road Series crown.
The Alba Development Road Team also celebrated a team prize, with three riders finishing in the top ten, underscoring their collective strength and determination throughout the season. This victory marks a fantastic conclusion to a successful season for the team, showcasing their talent and teamwork on the national stage.
Congratulations to Eilidh Shaw and the Alba Development Road Team for an exceptional 2024 season!
