Chloe Grant was on track to secure P10, P9, and P5 place finishes at round 6 of the 2024 GB4 Championship.
Chloe Grant's return to the GB4 Championship this weekend marked a crucial stage in her season. After a five-week hiatus, she was eager to get back behind the wheel and build upon her momentum. To prepare, Grant dedicated countless hours to simulator training and worked closely with her coach, Tom Mills, to fine-tune her skills.
The weekend began with testing sessions on Friday, where Grant focused on re-acclimating to the car and working with her team to optimize its setup. Despite the challenges of missing previous test days, Grant quickly adapted and collected valuable data for qualifying.
Saturday's qualifying was held in wet conditions, with Grant securing P8 for the first two races and P5 for the final race. The races themselves were marked by dramatic shifts in weather, with rain frequently interrupting the dry track.
In the first race, Grant started on slick tires and made a strong start, moving up to P7. However, a sudden downpour caught her out, resulting in a heart-stopping spin off the track. She managed to recover and finish the race in P10, earning valuable championship points.
The second race also featured wet conditions. Grant started cautiously, waiting for opportunities to pass other drivers. While the car performed well initially, the track began to dry, making it more difficult to maintain grip. Grant fought hard throughout the race but ultimately finished in P9, missing out on a higher position by a narrow margin.
In the final race, Grant started P5 but was unable to make significant progress due to traffic. Despite the challenges, she fought tirelessly throughout the race, engaging in intense wheel-to-wheel battles with competitors. Her tenacity paid off, as she crossed the finish line in P5.
With Grant's strong performance and the team's overall efforts, KMR Sport secured their third consecutive Teams' Championship title in GB4. It was a remarkable achievement for the squad, and a testament to their hard work and dedication.
