Chloe Grant is heading into the second round of the F1 Academy in Valencia, Spain this coming weekend (5th-7th May) with confidence after two top-10 placings in her series debut.
Her premier for the ART Grand Prix Team took place at the Red Bull Ring track in Austria this past weekend (28th-29th April) and was also her first time to visit and race on the track.
Chloe started all three races from ninth place on the 15-car grid after a series of wet qualifying sessions. She said “It was good to experience the car in both wet and dry conditions - which again I can put to good effect at future events during the season”.
She was the highest placed British driver on the 30mins Race 1 grid. She recorded a 10th place finish despite contact with another car on the final lap but encountered a transmission issue in Race 2 which caused her to retire. She bounced back in Race 3, after running as high as fifth, she finished in ninth place.
Reflecting on her debut, Chloe said “The team and I learned a lot at the opening event last weekend which I firmly believe will help us massively heading to Spain this weekend… After qualifying and the three races in Austria, I’m feeling much more confident looking towards Valencia. It's a big learning curve but I was generally happy with my pace.”
We are proud of her opening achievement in Austria and cannot wait to see how she performs in the next race. Good luck Chloe from everyone at John Clark Motor Group!
