Chloe Grant will begin her F1 Academy campaign this weekend (28th-29th April) when she makes her debut for the ART Grand Prix Team. Chloe, who only passed her road driving test in the last few weeks, will be travelling to Austria for the first time to race on the Red Bull Ring circuit located in the foothills of the Styrian Mountains.
She has over 1100km in testing behind her from this month where she gained valuable experience of the 150mph Tatuus single-seater along with her rivals in trials at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain) and Paul Ricard (France).
The Loughborough College student will now focus on her first trip to the 2.68-mile RBR circuit and the challenges that it will pose her as in inaugural season of the F1 Academy gets underway. Her season is supported by Laser Tools, John Clark Motor Group, Kevin Cuthbert PT and Fierce Racing.
Five teams field a total of 15 drivers in the 21 race, seven-event championship. Two qualifying sessions will be staged on Friday with three races on Saturday.
Ahead of the race, Chloe said “I’m really excited to get the season started and want to finish inside the top-10 and push on from there. I'm feeling good as our two pre-season tests have gone well. ART couldn’t have given me better support and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do when the field finally goes head-to-head this weekend…“I have done a lot of laps of the Red Bull Ring circuit on the simulator so that should help me. I’m setting my expectations modestly for the first round and don't mind if it’s wet which would definitely make for interesting races!
John Clark Motor Group is excited to see Chloe’s performance in her debut race and wish her, and the rest of the ART Grand Prix Team the best of luck!
