Fox Motorsport head to the legendary Brands Hatch circuit this weekend ready to take on the Ginetta Junior Winter Series.
The team from Maldon, Essex, will field a single Ginetta G40 Junior for talented youngster Gordie Mutch, who will race one of the 100mph rear-wheel-drive sportscars for the first time. Fifteen-year-old Gordie, who lives in Lockerbie, Scotland, has been given his opportunity with Fox after winning the team’s Ginetta Junior Winter Series Shoot-out at Silverstone in September.
Gordie, who is supported by Ecurie Ecosse and John Clark Motors, began racing cars this year in the Junior Saloon Car Championship. He finished an impressive fourth in the points table, despite missing a round, and won three races. The Ginetta Junior Winter Series is a two-day event with a total of four races and points awarded to the top-20 finishers in each.
The driver with the most points amassed over the two days will be crowned champion and will win a half-price entry into either the 2018 Ginetta Junior Championship or Ginetta GT5 Challenge. Gordie is eligible for both the overall crown as well as the Rookie Cup, which will be awarded to the best-performing driver new to Ginetta racing. This weekend’s event will be the last for Fox in 2017.
The team have committed to running James Townsend in the GT5 Challenge in 2018 and are putting the finishing touches on several additional exciting campaigns, which will be announced in due course.
