John Clark Motor Group staff and customers have raised and donated an amazing £111,000 to The Archie Foundation in total, with some of the money going towards funding the outpatient’s redecoration project at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
Some of the activities which contributed towards the total included bake sales and taking part in The Beast Race. Chris Clark, Managing Director of John Clark Motor Group, and Victoria Barry, Group Charity Coordinator for John Clark Motor Group, were invited to the official unveiling of the work. Chris said “It is good to see these projects coming to life and what a difference this has made. And to hear the kids, and the hospital staff, engagement and how much they are benefitting is simply great to hear.”
Renowned local artist Johanna Basford has been working with the charity and donating her time and skills to create the beautiful designs which will is hoped to help cheer up patients and distract their anxious minds as they wait to be seen by the doctors and nurses in the Children’s Hospital.
She has been working on the designs since last July with some of them being inspired by patients and their families after they handed in their own colouring sheets to share their ideas. Some of the animals have casts, hearing aids, and glasses so that the children can see pieces of themselves reflected in the designs.
