The MGS5 EV is a new-generation electric SUV that brings together five key strengths: rapid charging, a spacious interior, intelligent technology, dynamic driving capability, and advanced safety features – all included as standard.
Built on MG’s award-winning Modular Scalable Platform, first seen in the MG4, the MGS5 EV benefits from a design focused on battery efficiency, reduced weight, and enhanced performance.
With a choice of two motor options – 125kW or 170kW – the MGS5 EV delivers a driving experience that is both smooth and responsive. The 170kW version powers the rear wheels and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.3 seconds.
Its carefully engineered chassis and five-link rear suspension offer excellent handling, stability, and comfort, even across uneven or challenging roads.
The MGS5 EV features an ultra-thin, third-generation battery designed for performance and durability. It can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes using rapid DC charging, and supports up to 139kW charging speeds.
With a WLTP range of up to 298 miles, and a built-in Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) with multiple driving modes, the MGS5 EV is ready for longer journeys with fewer stops.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, along with MG’s iSMART connectivity app for remote vehicle access and control.
Drivers can customise the 10.25-inch digital display and easily manage driver assistance settings with just a few taps, making every journey smoother and more intuitive.
With a spacious interior, generous legroom, and up to 1,441 litres of flexible cargo space, the MGS5 EV is designed for everyday practicality. The Trophy model also features a powered tailgate and wireless smartphone charging, adding to the convenience.
Safety is built into every MGS5 EV. All models include seven airbags and a reinforced steel chassis. The braking system, developed with Continental and Bridgestone, allows the vehicle to stop from 62 to 0 mph in just 35.5 metres.
The Trophy model includes a 360-degree HD Surround View Camera system, ultrasonic sensors, and dynamic reversing assistance. MG Pilot, the advanced driver assistance suite, adds Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.
