Race Against Dementia Becomes the Official Charity Partner of John Clark Motor Group​

John Clark Motor Group is delighted and proud to announce that we will be working with Race Against Dementia (RAD) as our charity partner as of 1st July 2023.

RAD was established by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE following his wife Helen’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. Sir Jackie was horrified to discover that there is currently no cure for dementia, which devastates the lives of so many families.

RAD supports early career researchers in many aspects of dementia research and there are currently RAD Fellows and Associates based in the UK, Australia, USA, Europe, and South Africa. Their vision is a breakthrough in the prevention or treatment of dementia with the greatest of urgency.

Their four key principles are:

  • New talents: Identifying and financially backing the most talented early career researchers.
  • Innovation: We provide catalyst funding, enabling researchers to pursue innovative ideas at the highest level, that might not get funded by the mainstream.
  • Speed: We aim to instil a “Formula 1 attitude” in attention to details and urgency in order to accelerate the pace of development.
  • Global: We form strong alliances with research centres of excellence on a global basis.

John Clark OBE, Group Chairman of John Clark Motor Group, is also a trustee of RAD and discussed the partnership: “Dementia is growing, it is not standing still and our aging population is fuelling and accelerating its growth which, is why the work being done by Race Against Dementia is so very important and their work is already seeing results.
As a father and a grandfather, I cannot imagine a life without memories and no longer having the ability to make a decision. My heartfelt thoughts go out to every person who suffers today and I am humbled by those amazing people who are there to care with love and support. I am proud to be associated and continue my support for Race Against Dementia and their incredible work."
