BMW's first all-electric Gran Coupe, the BMW i4, "combines next-level performance with modern comforts to deliver a truly outstanding driving experience."
Key design highlights include the aerodynamic silhouette which is achieved with a smooth sloping roof, flush door handles, and the optional aerodynamic wheels working together to reduce drag which then contributes to electric power, extending the electric and driving range further.
Blue design elements on the kidney griller, diffusers, beneath the doors, and surround on the BMW badge throughout the car signifies the electrification of the model whilst the eDrive exterior sound alerts pedestrians to its presence when it kicks in at low speeds.
The marvel of the interior is the digital driving experience which offers a huge curved display across the front of the cabin made up of two screens which are seamlessly connected, a 14.9 inch control display and a 12.3 inch information display, one of the best offerings in modern electric cars.
All of this complements the top power output of 544hp, a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds, and fully electric vehicle of range up to 365 miles (specification dependent). BMW also estimates that a full charge can be achieved at 11kW from 8.25 hours and can handle fast charging points up to 205kW.
The CUPRA Born, most recently awarded Best To Drive Small Electric Car by What Car?, is the small electric family car produced by CUPRA since 2021. It may be built of the Volkswagen Group's MED platform but it is undoubtedly a CUPRA model.
It has sporty and confident styling with sharp lines and signature bronze details through the exterior and the cabin that makes it instantly recognisable. Ceremony lights welcome you when you unlock the Born whilst the rear has a "coast-to-coast" light which stretches from one side of the car to the other and enhances the futuristic exterior.
The Born offers two lithium ion batteries, 58 kWh and 77 kWh, which give an estimated 265 mile and 341 mile combined electric range respectively. Enjoy a 0-62mph time between 6.6 seconds and 7.3 seconds and a power output up to 231hp.
Charging on an 11kW home charger is also really quick, 6 hours 15 for the 58kWh battery and 7 hours 30 for the 77kWh, and can use fast chargers up to 170kW (battery dependent) for a rapid charging time of 30-35 minutes.
Škoda's first full-electric car offers "a fresh new take on technology, performance, and environmental responsibility." The iV badge represents that it's an innovative vehicle but also that it embraces change and leaves nothing behind.
The Enyaq SUV styling gives it higher ground clearance and a distinctively shaped bonnet whilst the decision to keep a front grille makes it recognisable as a Škoda, it's a key identity element across the brand. It also contains 130 LEDs to create a dazzling strip between the headlights that powerfully illuminates the road ahead.
There's also a unique crystal structure to the headlights which emphasises the three-dimensionality whilst the top spec model offers full LED Matrix headlights for even greater visibility. The rear lights are shaped dynamically and, again, offers a full LED option at the top trim level. These will come with an animated coming home function when the car doors are opened or closed.
The Enyaq iV is available with both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive and offers battery power output up to 299PS across the model range. This is paired with the ability to use DC fast charging points up to 135kW which will provide 0-80% charge in just 29 minutes. Electric range varies from 256 miles combined n the entry level model up to 321 miles combined on the top trim level.
The MINI Electric is based on the 3 door MINI Hatch in terms of size and design, and brings the ever-popular model into the future.
The most obvious difference is the lack of a traditional grille. Instead, the front of the car features a closed-off panel with an accent strip that runs across the top. This strip is also found on the side scuttles and rear bumper, and it helps to identify the car as an electric model. The MINI Electric also has a slightly different front bumper design than the gasoline-powered Cooper, with a larger air intake and a different fog light housing. The headlights are also LED units, which are standard on all models.
The battery on the MINI Electric is smaller than some others on the market at 32.6 kWh but this helps to keep the cost of the car down. MINI estimates an all-electric range of 144 miles and a full charge time from as little as 3 hours and 12 minutes on a home charging unit with 7.4kW output. Using a 50kW DC rapid charger in public can take as little as 36 minutes.
It's worth noting that the battery is placed below the rear seats which reduces the space for those passengers, so not ideal for six foot adults. However it's quicker than it's petrol counterpart with an output of 184PS and a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds. The instant toque that the battery provides makes it feel even quicker.

A DC fast charger can give you a 10% to 80% charge in just 26 minutes.
