Are you looking for a panel van that can do all the heavy lifting that is required while offering eco-friendly performance levels? If so, look no further than the Volkswagen e-Crafter, one of a number of zero-emissions new vehicles available from John Clark Hybrid/EV.
This practical electric van features 180-degree-opening rear doors and a nearside sliding door, providing the driver with flexible loading options. Not only does the e-Crafter look very much like the standard diesel-powered model, it offers the same amount of interior space as its medium-wheelbase counterpart. There is 10,700 litres of load space available giving this smart van the capacity to carry four Euro pallets.
The Volkswagen e-Crafter runs on a 100kW electric motor and 35.8kWh battery, which combine to produce 134bhp and 290Nm of torque. A 56mph top speed means that the vehicle is perfectly suited to work in urban and suburban environments, while a range of up to 107 miles ensure you’ve got enough scope for multiple jobs or deliveries in one day. Whether empty or full, the e-Crafter handles well, delivering a stable ride and responding keenly.
As well as a radio stereo system, the vehicle features Bluetooth connectivity that enables audio streaming and hands-free telephony and a 12-volt socket in the cab – useful for powering up laptops and other devices. In terms of safety technology, the e-Crafter comes very well-equipped, with essentials such as Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Programme working alongside innovations such as Crosswind Assist. This useful piece of technology uses targeted braking pressure to help stabilise the vehicle against anticipated gusts of wind, thus keeping it on an even trajectory.
