Blending petrol power with intelligent electrification, Starray EM-i delivers effortless everyday driving, long-range confidence and a premium experience that feels a step ahead.
Geely has unveiled the new Starray EM-i, a purpose-built plug-in hybrid SUV designed from the ground up to combine petrol power with intelligent electrification. Developed to deliver efficiency without complexity, the Starray EM-i offers confident performance, long-distance capability, and everyday usability for modern drivers.
Super Hybrid Technology
The Starray EM-i is a Super Hybrid, designed and engineered from conception as a PHEV aiming to deliver class-leading fuel efficiency* and strong driving characteristics. With the ability to switch between Hybrid, Petrol or full electric mode, Starray EM-i delivers an Intelligent and versatile driving experience.
*based on a WLTP weighted combined fuel efficiency of up to 1.4L/100km in C Segment PHEV SUV's (as at January 2026)(1)
Priced from £29,990 on the road, the Starray EM-i is available in three trims – Pro, Max, and Ultra – each offering a strong level of standard equipment and advanced technology.
The Starray EM-i delivers up to 618 miles of combined WLTP range, with an electric-only range of up to 84 miles, making it suitable for both daily commuting and longer journeys.
Pro (£29,990): Heated, electrically adjustable front seats, keyless entry, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard
Max (£32,690): Adds a head-up display and wireless phone charging for extra convenience
Ultra (£34,990): Features a larger battery and enhanced charging capability, enabling longer electric-only driving.
Unlike many global models adapted later for the UK, the Starray EM-i has been specifically tuned for British roads. Geely worked closely with Lotus Engineering to refine the chassis and suspension, helping ensure a settled and predictable driving experience across urban streets, A-roads, and uneven rural surfaces.
The result is a plug-in hybrid SUV that feels natural and composed, prioritising driver confidence and comfort rather than complexity.
Every Starray EM-i model has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, supported by a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance and safety systems.
For added peace of mind, all vehicles are backed by an eight-year or 125,000-mile warranty, with service intervals set at 12 months or 10,000 miles, appealing to both private buyers and company car users.
Inside, the Starray EM-i features a clean, modern cabin designed with everyday usability in mind. A digital driver display is paired with a large central touchscreen, offering intuitive access to navigation, media, and vehicle settings.
Wireless smartphone connectivity comes as standard, keeping the cabin uncluttered while ensuring drivers remain connected on the move.
To support customers making the transition to plug-in hybrid ownership, Geely has partnered with Andersen to provide access to the A3 home charger. In addition, a relationship with Octopus Energy helps customers identify suitable energy tariffs for home charging.
These partnerships are designed to make ownership as straightforward and convenient as possible.
Michael Yang, General Manager of Geely Auto UK, commented:
“We are committed to providing safe, smart, and efficient mobility tailored for British drivers. The Starray EM-i’s design as a dedicated Super Hybrid, combined with clear pricing and comprehensive equipment, delivers a straightforward and attractive choice for those embracing electrification.”
Reservations for the Geely Starray EM-i are now open, with sales set to begin in February 2026. Combining long-range efficiency, advanced technology, and a refined driving experience, the Starray EM-i aims to make the move to hybrid power both easy and enjoyable.
