Land Rover Discovery Sport Plug-In Hybrid

New Land Rover Discovery Sport

The new Land Rover Discovery Sport has endured an extensive facelift. Without a doubt the Discover Sport is the world’s most versatile and capable 5 + 2 SUV. The exterior of this new model carries familiar design cues such, including the clamshell bonnet, rising beltline and tapered roof. However, the dimensions have been adjusted to project a more eye-catching visual with new signature LED headlamps at the front and rear, alongside a new front grille and bumpers. However, it’s beneath the new Land Rover Discoveries robust skin where most of the work has been executed. The Land Rover Discover 2019 model introduces fresh new technology, improved aesthetics and most importantly more efficient, hybrid engines to Land Rover’s class leading family SUV.

The interior of the new Discover Sport has been completely transformed, delivering superior interior space, heightened comfort and the latest generation InControl Touch Pro infotainment. The Interior of the new Land Rover Discovery Sport is much bigger, with increased small item stowage and a flexible load space (up to 1,794-litres) implying that it is the perfect family SUV. What’s more, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport comes brimming with the finest specification options including Touch Pro infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and 4G WiFi hotspot to keep you and your family connected, informed and entertained on every journey.

Land Rover Discovery Sport Hybrid

The new Discovery Sport pushes the boundaries of the premium compact SUV sector with the introduction of electrified powertrains. Under this new Land Rover SUV’s vigorous skin lies new Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA) which accommodates efficient new electrified engines, including a 48-volt mild hybrid from launch, to help reduce emissions and fuel consumption. First launched on the new Range Rover Evoque, the system uses an engine-mounted belt-integrated starter generator to harvest energy normally lost during deceleration and stores it in an under-floor battery.

At speeds below 17km/h (11mph), the engine will shut off when the driver applies the brakes, before redeploying the stored energy to assist the engine under acceleration to reduce fuel consumption. The new engine and transmissions are refined, quiet and efficient to drive, ensuring that whether on the school run, a drive into the country or heading to the Alps, they offer notable efficiency savings.
