The new Land Rover Defender represents 70 years of innovation and improvement; honouring the vehicle’s history for rugged solidity while thoroughly remaining a Defender for the 21st century. A true hero of all terrains and any challenges the new defender is capable of great things. The New Defender has an unmistakable silhouette that is familiar yet new. It has been designed with purpose and engineered to excite. Iconic in name, shape and capability, the new Defender can be personalised to allow owners to make the most of their world.
The New Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 come available with a choice of six trim levels; Defender, S, SE, HSE, First Edition and the top of the range Defender X. Customers can also select from the widest range of accessories ever produced by Land Rover, including a choice of four Accessory Packs: Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban. These additional packs have been designed to give drivers even more choice, all are compelling and equally desirable.
The new Defender features a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, which includes Bluetooth compatibility, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone mirroring. The built-in sat-nav can be consistently kept up to date with SOTA (Software-Over-The-Air) technology that gives you instant software updates. You can get the Defender with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display that also comes with a 3D navigation projected directly into the driver’s line of sight. Also featured is a colour head-up display which projects key vehicle data, including speed, gear position and navigation directions, on the windscreen.
The new model features a range of new-car technology that brings enhanced connectivity to make the drivers life easier in the rugged-off roader. Featured are two embedded LTE modems and two e-Sims which allow the defender to download software on the move without affecting music streaming and other running apps through the new Pivo Pro Infotainment system. The Pivi Pro infotainment system will also support Ringo, the pay-by-phone parking service, which means you could pay for your parking directly from your car, without using your phone.
ClearSight Rear View Mirrors provide enhanced rear vision. At the touch of a button, the frameless interior mirror switches from a conventional mirror to a digital screen showing a feed provided by a high-definition, rear-facing camera mounted high at the back of the vehicle. ClearSight Ground View invisible bonnet technology shows the hidden areas directly ahead of the front wheels. The new Defender will have semi-autonomous driving features such as emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic-sign recognition software, cruise control and speed limiters.
Structural elements and fixings usually hidden from view have been exposed in the new Defender, with the emphasis on simplicity and practicality. Innovative features include a dash-mounted gear shifter to accommodate an optional central front 'jump' seat. As a result, the Defender 110 offers five, six or 5+2 seating configurations, with a loadspace behind the second-row seats of up to 1,075 litres, and as much as 2,380-litres when the second row is folded. The new model can tow up to 3,500kg and carry 300kg on its roof and has a wading depth of up to 900mm and 291mm of ground clearance.
User-friendly features include practical touches and advanced technological innovations. Durable rubberised flooring shrugs off the spills of daily adventures and once-in-a-lifetime expeditions, providing a brush or wipe clean interior. An optional Folding Fabric Roof provides an open-top feel and allows passengers in the second-row seats of the 110 to stand up when parked to provide the full safari experience.
