Volvo is introducing the power and refinement of its popular T5 turbocharged petrol engine to a wider range of Volvo cars in the UK. The T5 powertrain will now be available on the S90 Saloon, V90 Estate, V90 Cross Country and XC90 SUV.
Capable of delivering 250 HP and an astounding 350BNm of torque, the T5 engine is renowned for its strong performance and ability to deliver impressive fuel economy and emissions.
As the newest of the Volvo-designed-and-built Drive-E engines, the advanced 2.0 litre, four cylinder unit, is compact and lightweight, benefitting from a wealth of sophisticated engine design technologies. The variable valve system supports overall drivability and efficiency, while working to reduce power losses through internal friction.
