The new Volvo EX30 is one of the most exciting electric cars to have launched in recent years. The fully electric SUV is currently the smallest Volvo model available and is positioned below the XC40 and C40 crossovers.

The EX30 has the smallest carbon footprint of any Volvo car to date which has been achieved partly by creating a body that uses up to 25% recycled aluminium, 17% recycled steel, and 17% recycled plastic.
Its compact SUV physique boasts clean Scandinavian lines, vibrant colour options like Cloud Blue and Moss Yellow, and distinct electric cues like the closed grille and sleek "Thor's Hammer" LED headlights with active high beam.
The front end keeps things modern with its minimalist design, while the sides flaunt a sophisticated simplicity with their black roof and large 18-inch alloys on the front and rear wheels. Around back, vertical taillights add both style and visibility, while a playful spoiler and sporty diffuser complete the look. There's also auto dimmed door mirrors with ground lighting, keeping your visibility on the road and when you're parked a priority.
When we say that the EX30 is the smallest Volvo car available, don't be worried that you're going to feel like you're driving in a sports car as there's still ample room in this small SUV.
There's 1018mm of head room and 1063mm of leg room in the front seats and 974mm of head room with 821mm of leg room for the rear seats alongside 318 litres of boot space and a front load compartment. Plus a 40/60 split in the back seats so that you can utilise the space for both cargo and rear passengers as you need to.
The centre console screen measures at 12.3 inches and works as both your infotainment system and driver display with the option to completely customise what information and features are being displayed at any one time.
The system comes with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store fully integrated and a four year subscription from registration to keep you fully connected on the road. There's also over the air updates to the systems so you'll always have the latest Volvo software in your new EX30.
Elsewhere throughout the interior you'll find a heated steering wheel and heated seats for front passengers, a two zone climate control system, front and rear USB-C ports, 5G capability, and wireless phone charging.
The Twin Motor Performance option is the fastest accelerating Volvo ever made with a 0-62mph time of just 3.4 seconds and is the only option in the EX30 range to offer all wheel drive with two electric motors. Official range for the Twin Motor Performance is up to 279.6 miles combined and as much as 365.4 miles in city driving and it can utilise public DC charging speeds up to 175kW for a 10% to 80% charge in just 26.5 minutes.
The Single Motor version and Single Motor Extended Range offer an equally as good performance and Volvo expects a combined range of 213.8 mile and 295.8 miles respectively for these options. These both offer rear wheel drive as opposed to the four wheel drive option of the Twin Motor but all offer the ease of one pedal driving.
