Motability has announced that, from 24 November 2025, several premium brands — including Audi, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and Alfa Romeo — have been removed from the list of cars available on the Scheme.
What is behind the change
According to Motability, this shift is part of a refocus on “essential, practical mobility.” They’re streamlining the Scheme to prioritise vehicles that are safe, reliable, and more affordable to run. Looking ahead, Motability has set an ambitious target: by 2035, 50% of all vehicles leased through the Scheme will be British-built.
What this means for you
If you placed an order for a BMW before 25 November 2025, your order will go ahead as planned. You can check the status via your Motability online account or speak to your dealer.
If you're currently driving an BMW through the Scheme, nothing changes immediately — you can continue with your lease as normal.
