BMW M8 Concept en route to series production
The Concept BMW M8 Gran Coupe is instantly hypnotic, boasting a dramatically accentuated bonnet, massive air intakes, muscular haunches, an aerodynamic roof line and a powerfully imposing rear. In other words, the 2019 BMW M8 is majestic from every single angle. Adding to this is the exclusive and emotionally compelling paint finish in Salève Vert, which appears to change in colour and is suggestive of the Northern Lights.
Better yet, for an enhanced visual appeal, the characteristic M design elements such as the frame of the M double-bar kidney grille, the M gills, the M brake callipers and the M twin tailpipes are finished in an ornate matt gold. For a more overpowering presence, the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe comes with attention-grabbing 21-inch M light-alloy wheels with star-shaped double spokes featuring an exotic two-tone gold and black finish. Thus, the exterior of the BMW M8 Concept alone cleverly parades the Gran Coupe’s unprecedented performance capabilities, impeccable craftmanship and most of all, its sheer extravagance.
The BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe is set to be powered by a sophisticated V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The high-revving unit develops maximum output of more than 440 kW/600 hp, which it transfers to the road in conjunction with the new M xDrive all-wheel-drive system – tuned specifically for the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe. Better yet, a flap-controlled exhaust system lends extra voice to the V8’s highly boisterous sound output. Nevertheless, the mechanical package, powertrain, chassis technology, exterior and interior styling of the 2019 BMW M8 is still in the final phase of development for series production.
