New Land Rover models will give customers more choices than ever for their materials and finishes. The continuation of the relationship with Kvadrat is a part of the Land Rover Materiality strategy to redefine luxury materials in the automotive sphere.
As a leader of premium textiles, Kvadrat is the perfect partner to provide this luxury to Land Rover customers.
Kvadrat wool blends are 58 per cent lighter than leather and provide a modern appearance and enhanced tactility as well as being warm and cosseting. To make sure that the quality of the product meets the expectations of Land Rover customers, it is tested in house by Land Rover for durability.
The Range Rover materials lab tested Kvadrat interiors to ensure that it delivers robustness throughout the lifetime of the vehicle. This includes putting the material through 60,000 cycles of abrasion testing - the equivalent of 10 years of usage - alongside UV testing which simulates three years exposure to harsh sunlight in only one month.
“The New Range Rover balances tradition and progression. All the materials our customers expect have been reinterpreted in a modern and sophisticated way continuing our materiality strategy to develop alternative choices to leather and our flagship SUV provides a leather-free interior at the highest level for the first time. In this way, we’re helping to set the tastes of our time – not just in the automotive world, but beyond.”
