The Volkswagen ID. 7 is the flagship in electric Volkswagen models and the brand is expanding the range with an estate car: the all-new ID. 7 Tourer. It becomes one of the first all-electric estate cars in the upper mid-sized class. It is an ideal business car thanks to its combination of electric driving advantages with a high-quality cockpit landscape, outstanding comfort, and superior spaciousness.
The Tourer differs dramatically from the fastback saloon at the rear of the car. The long roofline and elegant transition to the boot lid are striking design features of the electric estate whilst it takes on the appearance of classic estates such as the Passat or the shooting break style of the Arteon.
The increased rear height of the vehicle allows five passengers to comfortably sit alongside 605 litres of cargo space, increased to 1714 litres when the rear seats are folded, and the space is filled to the roofline.
The latest-generation electric drive system from Volkswagen is found on the ID. 7 Tourer and there will be two different battery sizes available. Depending on which option you choose it is expected to achieve WLTP ranges up to 685km (425 miles) and can utilise DC quick-charging stations with a capacity up to 200kW. This would allow you to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
Innovative technology will be standard on the ID. 7 Tourer, including an augmented-reality (AR) head-up display which projects the relevant information into your field of vision as you drive so that you can stay focused on the road. It also allows the classic display behind the steering wheel to become more compact, tidying up the dashboard for you.
You’ll find premium-class comfort in the new Volkswagen ID. 7 Tourer thanks to ergoActive seats with a new pressure-point massage function and automatic air conditioning. There’s also a panoramic sunroof with smart glass which allows you to have the glass set to either opaque or clear depending on your mood and a new Wellness In-Car App which allows you to set up car features to three predetermined settings to enhance your wellbeing during the journey.
