Racing in front of a huge crowd at the iconic Chinese venue, the Scottish driver showed strong pace throughout the weekend and was involved in several exciting on track battles.
In Race 1, Rachel fought hard in a competitive midfield pack as drivers battled for the final points positions. A thrilling three wide moment into Turn 1 saw Rachel racing alongside Ava Dobson and Doriane Pin as the group pushed for position. After an intense race, Rachel crossed the line in 10th place to secure a top 10 finish and valuable points.
Race 2 proved more challenging. While battling for position on Lap 10, Rachel locked up while attempting an inside move which resulted in contact with Wild Card driver Shi Wei. The incident brought her race to an early end and she was later handed a five place grid penalty for a separate incident.
Despite the setback in the second race, the Shanghai weekend showed promising pace for Rachel and the PUMA backed Hitech Grand Prix team as the 2026 season gets underway.
The championship now moves to Montreal, Canada for the next round of the season from 22 to 24 May, where Rachel will be aiming to build on the positive start to her campaign.
