A new range of engines and a mild hybrid system improves fuel consumption by using an electric motor to assist the engine, similar to the way hybrid electric vehicles work.
Audi A6 Avant Performance
The engines in The New Audi A6 Avant have been simplified and improved for better power output, fuel economy and overall performance. Rather than having two diesel engines, the improved 40TDI quattro is now the only diesel variant, with the 2.0 litre engine producing 204PS and up to 400Nm of torque, and a seven speed automatic gearbox allowing it to change gear smoothly. The petrol engines are the 40TFSI and 45TFSI, generating 204PS and up to 320Nm torque on the former, then 265PS and 370Nm in the latter, which also comes with quattro all-wheel drive, allowing for even swifter acceleration from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds.

The spacious cabin of the latest generation of Audi A6 Avant is brimming with modern Audi technology, from the dual displays on the centre console to the virtual cockpit and multi-function steering wheel, for easy operation of the Audi MMI Touch infotainment system. Safety is of great importance to Audi, who have kitted The A6 Avant with Audi pre-sense front automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning as standard, alongside the parking system plus and rear camera. The City Assist Pack and Tour Pack include even more advanced driver assistance systems.

Dynamic styling, a powerful and pronounced front grille design, flared wheel arches for the front wheels and rear all come together to create the unmistakeable silhouette of The Audi A6 Avant. An optimised space concept offers more room for passengers and a 565 litre boot load capacity, that can be increased to 1,680 litres with the versatile 40:20:40 rear seats folded down.

The New A6 Avant range has 4 trim levels to choose from: The Sport, S-Line, Black Edition and Vorsprung. The Sport features the standard suspension, 18" alloy wheels, LED lights and Audi Drive Select. The S-Line adds a sport suspension, larger 19" alloys, front & rear sports styling and sports front seats. The Black Styling Pack and 20" V-spoke alloys are added with The Black Edition, before The Vorpsrung trim adds a generous array of extras, including an adaptive air suspension, adaptive dampers and the contents of the Tour & City Assist Packs, which are detailed in the optional extras below.

As always, The Audi A6 Avant has a selection of optional extras for those looking to escalate their experience further. The popular Comfort & Sound Pack includes extended LED interior lighting, a 360 camera, the Bang & Olufsen Sound System and Parking Assistance Plus Pack, supporting the driver with any parallel or bay parking space. Further assistance systems such as lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist and traffic sign recognition are available as part of the City Assist Pack and Tour Pack. Items such as the optional air suspension are only available with the Vorsprung model trim.
