The Dacia brand currently sells the cheapest new car available in the UK, the Dacia Sandero (which can be bought At Specialist Cars Dacia Aberdeen). Hints from the Dacia boss suggests they are set to make a fully electric vehicle in the future. With help from their Alliance Renault, Dacia are looking to develop an affordable electric vehicle. It is likely they will use underpinning from the Renault ZOE, Europe’s best-selling electric car.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Dacia’s European chairman Jean Christophe Kugler suggests the EV vehicle will still be ‘shockingly affordable’ and they won’t change the brand territory but benefit from the Renault Alliance technology to fit it to Dacia customers. The time frame for the electric vehicle is unclear but Jean suggests it could be ‘sooner rather than later’. Albeit, it is likely the car will have a very basic level of autonomous technology.
