It's marathon season, which means people are training hard to complete the ultimate journey of a life time. Most people push their bodies to the limits, but never their Jaguar. That's why we've found the ultimate mega-marathon - The NC500 - to test out the performance capabilities of your Jaguar.
The North Coast 500 – NC500 - is a brand-new touring route, developed by Prince Charles and the North Highland initiative (NHI), aimed to showcase the best of the Scottish Highlands on a 500-mile round trip and appeal to car enthusiasts, adventurists and tourists.
“Across the globe, touring routes have become famous and are often the very reason for visitors making the journey to that country” David Whiteford, NHI Chairman.
The NC500, is being dubbed as Scotland’s answer to the world-famous Route 66 – but we’re not sure Route 66 can compare with the heritage, culture and beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
The performance capability, of our all our Jaguar models will ensure that the NC500 round trip, will be done in comfort, safety and style!
The official starting point begins in the northern city of Inverness, and heads along the west coast towards Applecross, then weaves to the towns of Torridon and Ullapool.
From there, you’ll drive to the most northerly stretch visiting Caithness and John O’Groats, then eventually heading back to Inverness passing through Dingwall.
No matter if your on the country back roads or the motorway, Jaguars got your back.
Be prepared to experience a lifetime supply of culture and history, as the NC500 showcases everything from castles and mountains to beaches and hidden sea stacks.
Along your way, there are plenty of castles to explore. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the ruins of Ardvreck castle, that lies on the edge of Loch Assynt. Dunrobin castle, is a must. The French-style chateau oozes elegance and glamour and is the largest castle in the northern highlands.
If the weather’s in your favour, head to the beautiful beaches of the northern highlands. Our favourite is Achmelvich Beach, as it’s the perfect place to sit back, relax and take in the beautiful scenery of the unspoiled beach and the never-ending blue sea.
If you need to get out and stretch your legs, try climbing one of the many mountains along the way. From Suilven, An Tealch, Ben Hope to Stac Pollaidh there’s more's more than enough to keep you entertained.
