John Clark Motor Group is proud to be named the headline sponsor of the Scottish Portrait Awards in Fine Art 2026, marking an exciting new partnership with the Scottish Arts Trust.
The announcement comes as the awards prepare for a major milestone: for the first time, the Scottish Portrait Awards will be hosted at National Galleries Scotland: Portrait in Edinburgh. The exhibition will run from 28 November 2026 to 11 April 2027, showcasing the very best of contemporary portraiture in Scotland. Entries are now open, with the winning artist receiving £5,000 and a prestigious portrait commission from National Galleries of Scotland.
As part of a new multi-year collaboration, John Clark Motor Group will also support a series of bespoke spotlight exhibitions in selected showrooms across Scotland. These curated displays will offer customers a unique opportunity to explore, and purchase, artwork created by some of Scotland’s most exciting emerging and established artists.
Speaking about the partnership, Marketing Specialist Sara Lagerman said:
“John Clark Motor Group has a long and proud history of working with the communities that we operate in, and we understand the importance of giving back. This includes supporting promising talent, in this case, the creativity and innovation of fine artists from across Scotland who are excelling in their field.”
Gordon Mitchell RSW, RSA, RGI, Director and Chair of the Fine Art judging panel, added:
“This partnership is founded on the shared commitment towards offering new ways to access, understand and experience art. The multi-cycle, multi-faceted sponsorship with John Clark Motor Group aligns with our values and cultivates a space for dialogue. I’m excited to see what we can deliver for the arts in Scotland with this new support.”
