Expect a reworked drive train, heavily tweaked engine, advanced power and a brand-new gearbox with the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and John Cooper Works Countryman expected in July this year. With the two models the most powerful in the brand’s history, the sound will make you fall back in love with driving and bring the race-feeling to your everyday life. So, what’s under the hood? An updated 2 litres four-cylinder turbocharged engine will produce a spectacular 302bhp and peak torque of 450Nm torque, with MINI ALL4 all-wheel drive and new eight-speed manual gearbox there is plenty of extra ability on tap.
Against the clock, the JCW Clubman can accelerate to 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds! The Countryman comes in a little slower with its abilities of 5.1 seconds, due to its bulkier re-design. Both models are capped with a top speed of 155mph. To put it into perspective, both new models are impressively over a second quicker than the preceding models.
Aesthetics wise, both new models ride on special 18-inch wheels, new LED light features, sharpened steering and sports mode as standard. Inside, we can expect the classic JCW sports seats, sports steering wheel, premium materials all inspired by the track. Inside, you can expect two-tone contrast paint coloration, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation, parking sensors, reversing camera and heated seats.
The updated John Cooper Works Clubman and John Cooper Works Countryman go on sale in the UK in July. Both models are expected to be priced around £34,000 and £35,000. To keep up-to-date with all the latest MINI news, click here or why not view our current JCW models here.
