At John Clark Volvo Aberdeen, Dundee & Edinburgh the Volvo new car warranty does not in any way affect your statutory rights and gives you remedies, including arbitration in addition to those under any contract of sale. It is also transferable to any subsequent registered owner of the vehicle. Volvo and the relevant authorised Volvo retailer will decide whether to repair or replace the components at their discretion. Any parts that are replaced will be retained by Volvo.
Below are the details of what is covered and what will be rectified free of charge by an authorised Volvo retailer:For 36 months after registration date, or until your new vehicle has been driven 60,000 miles, whichever comes first - any component failure attributable to faulty materials of workmanship during manufacture.
For three years from the date that the vehicle is delivered to the first owner, any paintwork defects and surface rust attributable to faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture
For eight years from the date the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, any material defect of the hybrid Lithium battery pack* will be rectified free of charge by an authorised Volvo retailer.
For twelve years on all models, from the date that the vehicle is delivered to the first owner, rust perforation through any sheet metal body panel attributable to faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture.
The Lithium battery fitted to Volvo hybrids, like all lithium batteries, will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use. Loss of battery capacity due to or resulting from normal gradual capacity loss is not covered under the Volvo new car warranty.
A vehicle's warranty is a crucial asset to any driver. Servicing your car at Volvo Aberdeen, Dundee or Edinburgh removes any doubt about your warranty becoming invalid and will leave you confident that any future repair costs on your car will remain at a minimum.
When you purchase an approved Volvo Selekt Car it will come with one of the most comprehensive warranties available provided the vehicle is under seven years old and has travelled less than 100,000 miles (from the date first registered) at the time of purchase from us.
Dependent on the age of the Selekt vehicle the warranty cover will be:
If the Selekt Volvo you purchase is under 2 years old at the point of purchase they will be covered by the Volvo manufacturer warranty. A
All other Selekt vehicles under five years old will be covered for 12 months.
Any vehicle that is more than five years old at the point of purchase will be covered for 6 months, although you can upgrade this to 12 months should you prefer.
Please not that vehicle under 3 years old will have the balance of the manufacturer warranty in place unless the car is between 24 and 36 months old in which case the following Volvo Selekt Warranty cover will take over at the point the original Volvo warranty expires.

All major mechanical and electrical parts cover – we list parts that are not covered, you are covered for everything else.
Full parts and labour cover – we pay the full costs of genuine Volvo parts and labour time required to fit them.
Claim limit is unlimited – the only limit to the amount you can claim is the price you paid for the vehicle.
Available at any time up till 3 years/60,000 miles – if you choose not to buy at time of purchase of new vehicle, you can purchase later but prices may vary.

Please Note: All parts and labour services supplied under the terms of the Warranty are guaranteed under the terms of the Warranty until it expires, irrespective of when these are supplied (for example, if a spare part is provided in the 34th month, it will be covered until the expiry of the Warranty in the 36th month, or the mileage limit is reached, whichever comes first). Also, when you buy Volvo accessories and spare parts from an authorised Volvo retailer, they come with their own specific guarantees. Any Genuine Volvo Accessory (excluding gift items) supplied and fitted by a Volvo dealer within one month or 1000 miles (whichever occurs first) of the new vehicle being registered will benefit from the same warranty terms and duration as the Vehicle Warranty.
