Friday 1st September saw the final event of the season of the Scottish Electric Chariot Championship take place at the historic Kinneil Estate, Bo’ness.
In the Jim Clark Championship, it was George Watson’s College who claimed victory after a very successful season. Their team of 12 pupils and three cars were challenged on several technical aspects on the day that included changing gear ratios and weight balance and tuning the electronic controllers to find which setup worked best to complete the timed lap.
They were followed in second place by Berwickshire High School whilst Lochgelly High School won the prize for the Fastest Time of the Day. All participants faced difficulties on the day with flat batteries and wires disconnecting during the training session which required them to spring into action to make adjustments and repairs before the timed laps later in the day.
All teams should be incredibly proud of their success in building and driving the cars throughout the year and we are incredibly proud to support such an amazing and innovative event for young people in Scotland!
