Since being launched back in June 2013, the BMW 4 Series has proven a huge success story with customers, with over 400,000 models sold across the world.
Now in 2017, the model has received an impressive face lift, with a refreshed design, upgraded cabin, and refined drive. We decided to investigate the details that make the new BMW 4 Series better than ever before.
Inside, an array of upgraded details adds to the cabins exclusive, high-quality feel. The centre console now features a high-gloss black cover, while new double stitching for the dashboard over the instrument panel gives an impression of elegance.
The sports steering wheel also features a new high-quality leather rim, with modified lining that offers the driver better grip. In addition, there are now more interior options to choose from. Night Blue, Dakota, Cagnac Dakota and Ivory White Dakota leather have been added to the range.
The defining feature at the front of the new BMW 4 Series is an unbroken central air intake, which adds a more imposing presence and a greater sense of width to the entire nose section. In addition, the model is now equipped with new twin LED headlights as standard.
The rear of the new BMW 4 Series has a low, sporty look that follows the lead of the front-end styling, with the bold horizontal lines and redesigned lights helping to give the model a fresh image. Meanwhile, the new rear apron has been designed to further accentuate the model's style.
BMW's engineers have greatly enhanced the model's dynamic handling capabilities by revising the 4 Series' suspension, but without compromising on the vehicle's impressive ride comfort. The stiffer suspension features more advanced damping technology and an upgraded steering set-up.
The upshot? Reduced roll, more neutral responses when driving at the limit, even greater straight-line stability, and the wonderfully precise steering for which BMW is renowned. A choice of three petrol engines or three diesel engines ensure the BMW 4 Series offers a drive that suits you.
