The Nissan Townstar has picked up another prestigious award, taking home Company Car and Van’s Small Electric Van of the Year title for 2025. This marks the second consecutive year the compact van has earned the honour, reinforcing its reputation as a top choice for business users.
Editor Andrew Walker praised the Townstar for combining the comfort and feel of a small car with the practicality businesses need. He highlighted its clever use of space, quiet drive, and strong safety features, noting that its blend of petrol and electric options makes it a versatile, future-ready van.
Successor to the popular e-NV200, the all-electric Townstar EV brings more than 20 advanced technologies to the segment. It features a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance systems, helping it stand out in the compact van class. Load capacity is impressive too – the standard L1 version offers 3.3 cubic metres of space, while the extended L2 model delivers 4.3 cubic metres and includes a wide-opening side door. Both versions offer up to 1,500kg of braked towing capacity.
The Townstar EV also offers a class-leading electric range of up to 183 miles WLTP Combined – or up to 269 miles on the City Cycle – thanks to its advanced electric powertrain, battery thermal management and fast charging options including 22kW AC and DC capabilities.
Backing up its quality credentials, the Townstar comes with Nissan’s five-year or 100,000-mile warranty with roadside assistance included, while the EV battery is covered by an eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty for added peace of mind.
Francesco Russiello, LCV Category Manager at Nissan GB, commented: “We’re proud to see the Townstar recognised once again. Its intelligent features, flexible configurations and everyday practicality make it a standout option for businesses of all kinds.”
