The SEAT Tarraco SUV arrived in 2018 and was a highly anticipated addition to the SEAT family as a mid-size crossover SUV that sits above the SEAT Arona and the SEAT Ateca and it the only model in the Spanish manufacturer's range that is available with seven seats.
The SEAT Tarraco was awarded "Best Large SUV" at the 2021 Auto Express New Car Awards, a title it retained for a third year after first being awarded it in 2019 and followed previous success at the Great British Fleet Awards in the same year. This SEAT Tarraco review, amongst others, highlight why this is an excellent car to consider if you're looking for something a bit roomier.
Full LED headlights are standard across the SEAT Tarraco range with LED daytime running lights, LED rear tail lights, and LED licence plate lights to give you full visibility at all times on the road. There's also halogen front fog lights with a cornering function and a rear fog light as standard whilst a welcome light on the door mirrors is included on higher trim levels.
With six paint colours available in a range of metallic paint and non metallic paint options and a different style of alloy wheels for every trim level that ranges from 17 inches on SE models to 20 inches on the SEAT Tarraco XPERIENCE Lux, there certainly isn't a compromise on style in favour of all that practicality. All models in the range also have the option to add on a panoramic sunroof to bring more light into the cabin and give a more seamless experience when driving.
Standard across the SEAT Tarraco range are rear parking sensors whilst additional park assist features such as front parking sensors, a top and rear view camera, and self parking functionality are all available across the range by opting for the FR or FR Sport trims onwards.
The interior of the SEAT Tarraco is packed full of excellent technology and standard equipment includes the 8.25 inch touchscreen in the centre console which houses the infotainment system and a 10.25 cluster screen for the digital cockpit, placed behind the steering wheel for the driver's use.
Upgrading to the SEAT Tarraco FR adds in additional comfort such as front sports seats, an electric driver's seat with memory function and an illuminated aluminium front door sill with trim logo
There's lots of space for passengers whether they're sat in the front seats or the rear most seats, making the seven seat SUV an ideal car for growing families or those who are always the designated driver for trips with friends!
The third row seats also fold easily into the floor when you don't need them which opens the boot space up to 700 litres when you use only five seats. Folding the middle row down and only using the front seats will give you a staggering 1775 litres of space. However if you are using all seven seats there's still 230 litres of space to make use of.
Currently the SEAT Tarraco offers both petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmission available so that you can choose your preferred setup. There currently is not a plug in hybrid option available on the SEAT Tarraco however.
The petrol engine offers an official WLTP combined mpg figure between 37.2 and 42.2 depending on the setup that you choose whilst the diesel engine offers a combined mpg between 47.1 and 52.3, again depending on which trim level and transmission that you choose. Great fuel economy is a benefit of every engine option available on the SEAT Tarraco.
The SEAT Tarraco has a five star safety rating from Euro NCAP which comes from an array of excellent safety equipment that is standard across the range. This includes adaptive cruise control with a speed limiter, traction control system, electronic stability control, electronic differential lock system, front assist with city automatic emergency braking and pedestrian protection, hill hold control, and lane assist, amongst others.
