Adapted from the first Morris MINI Traveller, the Clubman is a modern take on a British Classic. This model's history dates back to the 1950’s when the original estate cars and van conversions began. When the Clubman re-released in 2007, it became a unique part of MINI’s now perfectly formed model lineup.
Practical family estate cars don’t tend to be the most exciting looking model’s, but the funky Clubman definitely gives that theory a run for its money. In 2019, MINI gave the Clubman a facelift by enhancing the grille, headlights and optional Union Flag LED tail-lights to bring it in line with the Hatchbacks.
With it’s bold exterior look, the MINI Clubman has the perfect blend of personality and practicality. If you’re interested in this striking model, stay tuned below to find out more details.
Despite being heavier and bigger than the MINI Hatchbacks, the Clubman is still a fun car to drive with striking exterior and interior features, which you’d struggle to find in competitor models like the VW Golf Estate.
It’s very easy to be won over by a MINI’s style and iconic look and the interior of the Clubman is no different. The large round mood-lit centre console has been said to be like something out of a cruise ship, whilst the free-standing speedometer and rev-counter feel like a retro sports car.
Unlike the MINI Hatchback’s the Clubman has an abundance of space, with a capacity of up to 1,250-litres with the seats down and 360-litres with them up. The rear doors also open automatically by the move of your foot under the boot, making loading up the car super easy. With room for 5 people and the option for leather seats, the Clubman oozes total comfort.
Whilst the Clubman has grown significantly in size over recent years to allow for this space and comfort, it has still retained its character as a funky alternative to the usual family estate cars.
As with all the MINI models, a variety of engine sizes and trims are available for the Clubman. So we’ll have a look at the most popular ones.
The Cooper Classic offers a 136hp 1.5-litre engine, alongside the Classic LED headlights, rain sensor and automatic headlights.
The Cooper S Sport has a much larger engine with sportier trims. A 178hp 2-litre engine allows for 0-60mph acceleration in just 7.3 seconds. This model also comes with John Cooper Works alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and sporty seats.
Finally, the John Cooper Works is all about the driving experience. With a 306hp 2-litre engine, four-wheel drive, sports suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels, this is the top of the range.
With its iconic split rear doors, the MINI Clubman is the perfect car for those with personality and a love for this striking design.
Coming in as the biggest MINI across the range, the Clubman is by far the most practical and is ideal for families or for those who require lots of storage space.
