With recent changes made to the DVLA Systems we just wanted to give you some advanced warning on what you need to do next if you have a private registration number.
As the owner of the private registration it is now your responsibility to ensure this is retained by yourself prior to being put onto your new car. Please click on the link at the bottom of this page showing how to do this.
If the vehicle is to be registered to a Third Party, please ensure they are shown in the nominee box and shown on the certificate.
If you are Part Exchanging/Trading In a car with a private registration number you must ensure that the private plate is removed and retained by you and that you have the new registration document [V5] showing the age related number ready to hand in to the centre. We cannot take in the Part Exchange/Trade in without it.
Please Click Here for further information about the changes to the system from the government website.
