Used VW Caddy For Sale in Aberdeen

First seen on UK roads over 40-years ago, the Volkswagen Caddy has earned a reputation for reliability and practicality.

It’s pretty much a more compact version of the Volkswagen Transporter. The van does share many of the key traits you’d associate with the larger model with its powerful engines, comfortable ride, and excellent load capacity. This can be accessed either via the side panel door or through the two rear doors. It really is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable work van.

The Caddy is also incredibly fun and effective to drive. Boasting solid MPG’s which is only getting better as each new model is released.

One thing to note is that the Caddy doesn’t have a high roof variant for taller loads unlike a few of the models on offer from competitors. Still, the Caddy benefits from a very generous load capacity.

Best Volkswagen Caddy Models

There are three trim levels to consider when selecting your Caddy. As with many of Volkswagen’s commercial vehicle offering options include Startline, Trendline, and Highline.

Startline

The startline is the base model of the Caddy. It still brings many features which you would associate with higher-end models. With city emergency braking, electric windows and mirrors, a five-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a single sliding door for easy access.

Trendline

At the next level, there is the Trendline. This trim brings climate control, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver's seat for a more comfortable ride.

Highline

At the top of the range, we have the Highline. This model benefits from all the features associated with the previous trims and adds Volkswagen’s Discover Media Nav System, fog lamps, auto headlamps, and alloy wheels for that added luxurious vibe.

What to Look out for When Buying a Used Volkswagen Caddy

As with anything Volkswagen releases the Caddy has a solid reputation for reliability.

There are, however, a few things you should consider before buying a used VW Caddy with it being a van used for commercial purposes.

Walk around the van visually inspecting it for any surface defects, rust, or poor workmanship. Once you get inside the van take a look at how well taken care of the interior is. This can offer a little insight to how well taken care of this van has been with past owners. On the note of past owners, it is work looking at how many it has had in the past. If a vehicle is passed around quite frequently it can be a sign of underlying problems which might surface as you start driving it regularly.

You will also want to see a full-service history of the van. If the mileage is above 70,000 you’ll want to see a timing belt change and if it is above 80,000 the water pump and cambelt would also likely be very worn.

Some models can have issues with electronics so it would be worth testing all of these on your test drive. As long as everything is in working order you will be fine.
