Volkswagen ID.5

Available in Aberdeen and Kirkcaldy

The new Volkswagen ID 5 was first previewed in November 2021 with production beginning in January 2022 and competes directly with other electric cars such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E or the Skoda Enyaq iV.

After being name a Which? Best Buy for January 2023 it's clear that the VW ID 5 is a success and that it is a great choice as an electric car for you and for the environment as it is produced carbon neutral.

Volkswagen ID 5 Exterior

The exterior of the ID.5 is what makes it stand out from other electric vehicles in its class thanks to bodywork styling that gives the car a sporty presence. Although it is built on the same platform as the VW ID 4 it is not the same car at all. It has a lower drag coefficient and a sloping roofline to give it the aerodynamic silhouette of a coupe SUV.

Volkswagen have included innovative IQ.LIGHT as standard on the ID 5. These matrix LED headlights allows you to drive continuously with the main beam on without dazzling other road users whilst a light strip between the headlights provides further illumination. This is paired with the 3D rear LED tail light clusters with animated brake lights and integrated dynamic turn signals.

Volkswagen ID 5 Interior

The interior space of the new ID 5 is welcoming with the standard ambient lighting package which offers up to 30 digital colours and illuminates across the VW ID 5 cabin.

A panoramic sunroof as standard opens the space up further by allowing natural light to flood the cabin and tinted glass helps to keep the temperature pleasant throughout the cabin. An optional energy efficient heat pump ensures that the heating of the interior of the car is economical and allows the energy saving to help contribute to the long range of the car.

The infotainment system keeps you connected at all times with Apple Carplay and Android Auto and over the air updates to keep your systems running with the most current information at all times.

An augmented reality head up display located just above the steering wheel projects important information directly into your eyeline at the bottom of the windscreen to support you on the road.

Volkswagen ID 5 Performance

In terms of range, the ID 5 will be able to deliver 327 miles of electric range from a full charge on both power outputs. The ID 5 has a rapid charging capability that VW reckons will mean that owners will be able to top up their ID.5 with 62 miles worth of real world driving power in just 7 minutes, ideal for when you need to pull over into a motorway service station to stretch your legs.

The 77kWh Pro offers 174PS whilst the 77kWh Pro Performance offers a more powerful electric vehicle with 204PS and a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The official range figures stay the same for each battery option. The electric motor develops power dynamically right from the start of your journey with full torque.
