We all know the future is electric, so Volkswagen has jumped on the bandwagon and created their own electric ID., to mark the new era of innovative and sustainability.
Five concept cars join the family, with the VW ID.3 becoming reality, available to pre-order now and the first VW model to run solely on electric power. VW approach will be “electric for all” with a campervan, electric crossover and a luxurious saloon combining space, flexibility, comfort and dynamics to create a truly outstanding new way to drive. The first models of the future of ID. are developed using Modular electric drive (also known as MEB) created by Volkswagen the cars will be designed to be fully electric and reach a range of 500km.
The VW 1D.3, will have a 260 miles range and 100kW fast charging as standard, with the ability to charge up to 162 miles of range in 30 minutes. Its apparent from merely glancing at the Volkswagen 1D.3 that the model was based on a VW Golf hatchback. On the inside, there is a comprehensive range of standard kit, including satellite navigation, voice control, LED headlights and a contrast colour roof. It has been rumoured, that options could include augmented reality head-up display high-tech design. Three different battery sizes will be available a small, medium and large option at 45kWh, 58kWh and 77kWh, with the first edition arriving with the medium size battery. The firms plan to develop smaller and larger models is underway, with 5 concept cars revealed and another 15 plus cars set to use MEB in development, this is just a taste of what the future of driving will be like. Volkswagen has committed to creating a whole new way of driving. Volkswagen has revealed the next model to join the VW 1.D 3 is a C-segment SUV based on the 1.D Crozz concept car offering sufficient range and pleasurable drive no matter what driving condition. We expect to see this previewed at the Frankfurt Motorshow in September this year called the ID.4.
